This Christmas

Happy holidays y'all! I never thought I'd say this, but for this month's release I wrote a Christmas song (I know, wtf?), it's a very simple happy/sad vibe song called, ‘This Christmas’. I wrote it from the perspective of Wendy from Peter Pan, who wants to runaway to Neverland but can’t remember the way on her own. I hope you like it. Shoutout to my mom on piano.

Dead of Night

The 21st has arrived again! (I know wtf where did this month go?) My newest song, 'Dead of Night' is the third installment of my "new-song-every-month-on-the-21st" project. I wrote this song by freestyling over a loop of the opening guitar melody for 5 minutes or so. I'd had a long day of anxiety and panic attacks (fun right?), and the lyrics and melodies just sort of presented themselves as I recorded. I usually don't know what my songs are about until several months after I write them, but I think this one is about recognizing that we have the power, ability, and responsibility to ourselves to decide and construct who we are. It's about the desire to feel comfortable and confident in who you are, the decisions that you make, and the people that you surround yourself with at the end of the day. I hope you enjoy it...if you do please tell a friend to tell a friend.

Heights Like These

Happy 21st everyone! I'm so excited to share my newest single with you, 'Heights Like These'. This is the second installation of my current project where I release a new song every month on the 21st (until the end of time). I actually wrote a completely different song called 'Heights Like These' a few years ago and never released, it but I always loved the title. I wrote this new one last March while I was alone in my room and recorded it acapella. Christoph and I probably made 6 or 7 different versions of the track before (several bottles of wine later) we landed on this one, so I really really hope you like it. Thank you so much for all your support I LOVE YALL

Hero / Siren Song

I'm so stoked to announce that I will be releasing a new song every month on the 21st from here on out. I hope y'all enjoy these first two, it means the world to me to share them with you.

Wake & Baked Eggs

September 15, 2016  /  Devon Baldwin

Disclaimer: you don’t have to get high for these to be good, but it definitely wouldn't hurt either.

  • Swiss Chard, removed from stem and cut into pieces
  • 1 Clove Garlic, minced
  • 2 Eggs
  • Anchovies, chopped
  • Dried Sausage, cubed (I used Olli Norcini Salame)
  • 1/4 Avocado, sliced
  • Mixed Sprouts
  • Olive Oil

Preheat the oven to 400° F, and while your oven heats up, smoke a joint…just kidding, or am I? But actually, while your oven warms up heat some olive oil in a large skillet over high heat. Add the garlic and chard and cook for 1 minute, stirring frequently, then remove from heat. Coat a small ramekin or baking dish in olive oil to prevent the eggs from sticking, then add the greens, and crack two eggs on top, side by side. Throw that in the oven for 10 minutes while you chop up a few anchovies and some dried sausage, and add the anchovies and sausage on the eggs for an additional 2 or 3 minutes, depending on how cooked you want you want the yolks. Top with avo, salt, pepper and consume.
